The Blue Yeti USB mic is so vastly renowned for a reason. The Blue Yeti just sounds really nice on vocals. We love to recommend the Blue Yeti mic for vocals because it has an amazing clarity and really nice top end to it. The Blue Yeti is perfect for singers and voiceover artists. It can work for streaming, but if you are interested in a USB mic for streaming we really recommend a dynamic mic like the Shure MV7.
What Is The Mic Best Suited For?
The Blue Yeti works with any medium you want to use. But we really believe that it works best for vocals on a song or for a voiceover recording. The mic has different patterns you can select such as cardioid, bidirectional, omnidirectional & stereo. This gives you a lot more control on how you want to record your sound. If you are recording vocals for a studio project, you’re most likely going to want to use the cardioid polar pattern. The mic has an excellent signal to noise ratio of 100dB which is surprisingly good for a USB mic. The mic also has a 2-year warranty which is a nice thing to see in this price range. If you plan on using this as a vocal mic you’re most likely going to want to pick up a pop filter which is going to protect your sound from annoying plosives.
What Cool Features Does It Have?
The Blue Yeti also has no-latency monitoring which allows you to listen back to your voice in real time. This is really cool if you want to hear what sound you are getting through your headphones without having to play it back later. The mic is also plug and play on Mac and PC. So, you don’t have to install any annoying drivers that may not work with your hardware. This is a great feature for people who are newer to the audio world and want the peace of mind of knowing that their microphone will just simply work out of the box.

The Blue Yeti is a good solution if you don’t have an audio interface and you are looking for a high quality USB microphone that will deliver studio level results.
