When it comes to choosing a voiceover mic things can get really complicated really fast. For a voiceover mic, you’re going to typically want a large diaphragm condenser as these are what most big studios are using for most of their projects. There are a lot of incredible large diaphragm condensers out there so it is hard to go wrong. However, we have tested a lot of mics and we believe that nothing beats the value and incredible sound of the LEWITT LCT 440 PURE.

Don’t Just Take Our Word For It – Have A Listen

Expect Nothing But Pure Sound

The LCT 440 PURE gives you the same high-end components and large diaphragm condenser capsule technology as the prestige models, packed into a sturdy, stylish and compact housing. The mic comes with a shock mount, windshield, leatherette bag, and a magnetic pop filter that perfectly integrates with the microphone’s design. Pretty sweet, right? It comes with all these additional components for a really good deal of $269. For the price and what you get, this deal is very hard to beat. The LCT 440 Pure has a impressive 1″ true condenser capsule which captures the signal with an impressive amount of depth and clarity.

It Has Incredible Specs

This mic does an excellent job of reproducing a vocal sound. In fact, when we listened to our recordings it sounds remarkably close to the original source. And without a lot of audio processing, it sounds as if it’s a radio recording. You can see the EQ curve of the mic in the image above. Also, it is relatively flat until around the 2k Hz mark and drops off around the 20k Hz mark. It is on the brighter side but it doesn’t sound harsh like a lot of cheaper mics tend to sound. It has more of a flat sound than anything else. We wouldn’t describe this mic as colored. This mic gives you a real accurate representation of whatever sound you’re recording, which is great for voiceover purposes. It also has an 87 dB signal to noise ratio which is incredibly quite.

How Does It Compare To Other Mics

As we mentioned earlier, for the price of $269, we believe that this mic can’t be beat. It is one of the best mics we have tried below $500. It has an incredibly clean and natural sound and it takes EQ and compression very well. As you can hear in the video above, this mic sounds incredible once some processing is applied. You can easily turn it into a DJ or radio mic if required. We believe that you would be very happy with this mic and it is definitely worth trying it out. Thanks for reading! Cheers!
